Education

In Uganda, an estimated 11.5% of primary school-aged children are not in school. This figure increases significantly during the secondary years, where approximately 22–25% of children are out of school. For many families, the primary barriers are the cost of school fees, uniforms, books, and other essential learning materials.

Education is at the heart of our work in Uganda. We believe it is one of the most powerful pathways for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating long-term opportunity for children and their families.

Through our Education Program, we enrol children in suitable, good-quality schools and provide comprehensive support to remove financial barriers to attendance. This includes school fees, uniforms, books, transport costs, essential learning materials, and meals where needed. This support is made possible through our child sponsorship program and additional donations.

We work closely with each child and their family to select a school that is appropriate, accessible, and ideally close to home. We place strong emphasis on shared decision-making, ensuring that both children and caregivers are actively involved in choosing the school and understanding the educational pathway ahead.
