OUR WORK
Since our beginning in 2020 we have been working with children living on the streets in Uganda. We have a strong belief in the right for all children to have access to an education and a safe place to call home so they grow to reach their full potential.
The children
A safe place to call home
We aim to work directly with children who are living in extremely dire circumstances and are in desperate need of our help. We work to find safe places for children to call home and don’t believe that children should be raised in orphanages. However, there are children living in Uganda who have no-one to turn to.
Our long-term aim is to establish a children’s village for children who have no family. Currently we are working directly with children we have rescued and their families until we have the resources to expand our projects.
Supporting families
Strengthening the family
We believe in a long-term commitment towards the children we rescue and their families to ensure that no child has to return to the street. We provide rental assistance, food packages and support to families where needed in emergency situations.
Education
Creating a bright future
Education is a big part of what we do in Uganda. Education is the key to lifting children and entire families out of poverty. We enrol each child in a good quality school and provide school fees, uniforms, books, travel fees, school supplies and meals at school.
We partner with each child and their parents to find a school close to home. We ensure we involve both the child and the family in the decision making process of which school to attend.
Health & Nutrition
The basics
The children we support often have little access to food or medical care and basics such as clean clothing, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
We offer emergency medical care and check ups to the children and families that we support in our projects. We also provide mosquito nets, bedding, food packages and dental check ups when required.
