Child Resettlement

Child resettlement is the process of helping children leave life on the streets and return home to family or relatives wherever possible. We believe that children belong in families, not on the streets.

Every child’s story is different. Many children leave home due to poverty, family breakdown, abuse, neglect, or other difficult circumstances. Our role is to build relationships with children living on the streets, understand their situation, and work toward long-term restoration and stability.

FAMILY TRACING & REUNIFICATION

When a child comes into care, we begin the process of tracing family members and understanding the reasons the child left home. Home visits allow us to speak with parents and relatives and assess whether the home environment is safe and suitable for the child to return to.

Where reunification with parents is not possible, we work with extended family members such as grandparents, aunts, or uncles who may be able to provide long-term care and support.

Resettlement is not simply returning a child home. It involves ongoing support, monitoring, and relationship building to help families remain stable long-term.
