School visits
This month we have been playing catch up with all our expenses after the short month of February and we are slowly getting there. Last week Saul travelled out to do a school visit with Zainah. He purchased her a new backpack and brought some extra supplies and snacks for school. She was very happy to have the visit, and we left her with a little money to purchase anything else she needs. Some of our children have family who are far in the village and they can’t always afford to travel in for a school visit. We make sure that each one of our children get a special visit on school open days.
We were excited that Ryan was accepted into his primary school and has started Daycare as of last week. We have watched Ryan grow from a little baby. Ryan is the son of Zainah who had him at a very young age. We supported her back then with her pre and antenatal care, finding somewhere to live and arranging for her to return back to school while family members helped with Ryan. Zainah has often expressed that her one desire is for her son to get a good quality education, so it’s been a joy for us and her to see her son enrolled in boarding school. This will also make it easier for Zainah as they are both in boarding school. She can pick him up from school at the end of term and return back to the village with him during holidays. We are all breathing a sigh of relief as this will make life easier for everyone.
We also covered the costs for Zainah to attend a Geography excursion this month. We were so happy to able to do this for her so that she feels included with her classmates in being able to travel and enjoy the excursion. Thank you to everyone who gives towards our school fees each term, it really is making a difference in the lives of the kids we support.
We still have quite a few kids without a sponsor. You can see them up on sponsorship page. I’ve been making pretty sponsorship cards for my market table hoping to pick up a few new sponsors from there. If you know anyone who would be interested in sponsoring a child (and receiving regular updates and progress reports!) please forward our website link on to them.
I am so grateful for all your love and support of the work we are all doing in Uganda. We are only small but are doing great things! We could do none of this without your partnership as we are small and funds are limited. We thank you for your support.
May God continue to bless you abundantly.
