Back to school for Term 1 in Uganda

The start of the year is always very busy with our children heading back to school for Term 1. We organise travel to and from school for the children attending boarding school in Kampala. Many go home to the village over the school holidays and then head back into town at the start of the term. Some of our students chose to stay at school this year over the holidays to study and improve. We paid for them to attend these extra study weeks at their request.

Our team helped to do shopping, organise travel and support the children to get back into school with everything they need for the new year. A big thank you to all of you who donated and to those of you who sponsor our kids. We are so grateful!

This month Paul enjoyed a trip to the dentist to have a root canal. When he arrived he found out that he needed to actually have two. Thank you to those of you who donated so that he could get some relief from the constant pain he was in! He sends his greetings and thanks you all so much for caring for him.

We also had one of our girls have surgery on her toes for ingrown toe nails. We were able to get this done a while before she headed back to school for Term 1. We are happy to report she was fully healed before returning back to school.

Your on-going support means we can provide emergency medical care as needed for the families and children in our programs. and, in this case, also one of our staff members.

This month we also provided regular support packages and emergency rental payments for families in need. Thank you so much!

We were so excited this month to have our first meeting at CRANE in their conference room. The conference room is right next door to our office. It was amazing to be able to spread out and connect up to zoom via their laptop system. We felt very professional and excited for the future. We look forward to joining the CRANE network officially this year and partnering with local NGO’s and churches in Kampala. Thank you all again so much for your love and support.
